Gennady Zyuganov met with the Chairman of the National Assembly of Socialist Republic of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Chong
On April 23, the CPRF CC Chairman Gennady Zyuganov met with the National Assembly Chairman of Socialist Republic of Vietnam, the Politburo member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam Nguyen Phu Chong.
While opening the meeting Gennady Zyuganov noted the unvaried nature of the warm and friendly relations that existed between the Vietnamese and Russian peoples. The CPRF leader told that two years ago, together with the then acting President of Russia Vladimir Putin he visited Vietnam. Gennady Zyuganov expressed the hope that the implementation of strategic agreement signed at the time will continue successfully.
Last year a friendly and at the same time a very important meeting with the President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (SRV) Nguyen Minh Chiet was held. Inter-parliamentary cooperation is developing successfully. The delegation of the Communist Party of Vietnam participated in the XIII Congress of the CPRF, which took place in November 2008.
Addressing to comrade Nguyen Phu Chong, the CPRF CC Chairman said that his visit to Russia is taking place in a very crucial time when financial and economic crisis has gripped the entire planet. And yet only socialist countries, especially China and Vietnam prevail in coping with the crisis.
Comrade Nguyen Phu Chong stressed that he has come to our country for further promotion of friendly and partnership relations. This visit is a continuation of visits paid by the President and the Prime Minister of Vietnam, which have laid good foundation for mutually beneficial cooperation. The Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam expressed his gratitude to the CPSU and the CPRF as its successor, to the entire Soviet people for the support during the years of foreign aggression and the subsequent reconstruction of the country. «Much has changed In the world today, - Nguyen Phu Chong said - but the feeling of friendship for the USSR, to Russia always remains in our hearts».
The Chairman of the National Assembly of Vietnam noted: he was particularly pleased that this visit coincided with the139th anniversary of Lenin’s birth. The Vietnamese delegation laid wreaths at the Lenin Mausoleum and the Tomb of Unknown Soldier at the Kremlin wall. Nguyen Phu Chong reminded that on April 22, 1960 the work of Ho Chi Minh dedicated to Leninism was published. The founder of Vietnamese state argued that Vladimir Lenin pointed out the path that should follow not only the people of Russia, but also people throughout the world.
Gennady Zyuganov stressed that the rightness of Leninist teaching has been fully confirmed today. The left sentiments are increasing all over the world. But at the same time, anticommunism is rearing. This is especially noticeable in the case of the Baltic countries, and the countries of Eastern Europe. The anticommunist provocative attempts in the European Parliament and the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe are keeping up. Thus the joint action of all left forces gains in importance.
At the CPRF leader’s request, Nguyen Phu Chong briefed on how the economy of Vietnam is coping with the crisis. Over 30 years of renewal policy under the leadership of the CPV tremendous successes have been achieved. The country economy develops steadily, living standards are rising. In 2007 the economic expansion rate made 8.2%. In 2008 due to the beginning of the crisis, the rate declined slightly, but still it was as high as 6%. In 2009 the government set a target: to keep economic growth at the level of 5-5,5%. And there are good prerequisites to fulfill this task.
In turn, Gennady Zyuganov informed about the anti-crisis program proposed by the Communist Party. It has absorbed all the best from the Soviet experience, the experience of socialist countries. This program finds wide support in all population strata of Russia: from entrepreneurs to students. «On the whole - stressed Gennady Zyuganov - not only our country but the entire world are on the verge of a serious upgrade. And it is necessary to move towards it along the path of socialism».
The participants of the meeting expressed their mutual desire to strengthen cooperation on both inter-parties, and inter-parliamentary level. Nguyen Phu Chong, invited Gennady Zyuganov to visit again the Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the nearest future.
